Become a Participating Lender

Thank you for your interest in becoming a Montana Housing approved participating lender. Montana Housing loans are an important tool for first-time homebuyers in Montana.

Part one of the application process for a potential participating lender is to gather the materials listed on the Required Information for Application to Become an Approved Lender/Servicer form and submit them to Montana Housing along with the signed Lender Application for review by staff.

Contact us for more information on how to apply.

Upon staff’s satisfaction that the information is complete, and the applicant meets the requirements of the Montana Board of Housing, the request is submitted to the Board for action at a regularly scheduled meeting. The Board expects the applicant to attend this board meeting either in-person, by webinar or by phone call.

The Board reviews and discusses the information provided by staff and decides whether to approve the applicant as a lender.

Participating Lender Renewal

An Invitation to Participate is sent annually to each lender currently participating in Montana Housing programs. The application process for renewal requires lenders currently participating in Montana Housing programs to submit a complete Renewal Application Checklist for Participating Lenders application package before they will be renewed as a participating lender.

Contact us for more information on how to submit your renewal application package.

Once the lender completes the entire renewal application process and has been approved, they will receive a Notice of Acceptance.

Please NOTE: Lenders whose packages have not been approved by a predetermined date, will no longer be able to reserve loans after that date until the full application has been received and approved.
