Survey: How should HUD dollars be used in Montana for housing and community development needs?

Participate in the 2020 Housing and Community Development Survey for the 2020-2024 Consolidated Plan

The State of Montana is developing a five-year plan to guide policy and investment for housing, economic, and other community development. The five-year plan, also known as the “Consolidated Plan for Housing and Community Development” is required by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to assess Montana’s needs and current conditions as well as to determine priorities and allocate HUD funding.

Commerce Announces $4.5 Million in Housing Trust Fund and HOME Awards

Funding will support 294 affordable homes in Montana

The Montana Department of Commerce announced Friday that four affordable housing developers representing four Montana communities will share more than $4.5 million of federal funding through the Housing Trust Fund and HOME Investment Partnerships Program. The money will be used to support the construction, rehabilitation and preservation of affordable rental homes in Montana.

Missoula’s Homeword Inc, a nonprofit affordable housing developer, has been awarded $1.4 million from the Montana Department of Commerce’s Housing Trust Fund (HTF) for the rehabilitation of the Hearthstone Apartments in Anaconda. Hearthstone is an affordable apartment complex where seniors and individuals with disabilities call home.
