Montana CoC NOFA Announcement
The FY 2016 Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) for the HUD Continuum of Care (homeless) grant program has been released starting the competitive grant process.
Currently, Montana has 18 local project grantees receiving a total of $2,458,591.
The statewide MT Continuum of Care Coalition (MT CoC)) is required to score and rank all new and renewal grant applications. All project applications will be due to the MT CoC on August 15th but they must first go through a local CoC process. For the appropriate local contact information, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The MT CoC cautions that available funding is very restricted for FY 2016 due to increased national competition. In addition, HUD requires CoCs to operate a Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) and due to Montana’s funding for HMIS being eliminated last year, it will be necessary to reallocate funds from existing grants. As a result, it is likely that one or more renewal grants cannot be renewed or fully funded.
Scoring, Selection and Ranking Criteria
In compliance with HUD CoC’s Notice of Funding Availability, the MT Continuum of Care Coalition is making its’ FY 2016 CoC Project Competition Scoring, Selection and Ranking criteria publicly available for review. The MT CoC expects to see 18 renewal applications and 1 or 2 new project applications totaling about $2.5 million.
